But with respect to pharmaceutical tabletting issues, we can’t resolve the issues with only quality Tablet Toolings.

Selection of Steel

We at Global, believe that proper selection of Steel based on product nature is very much important for complete tabletting solutions.

We recommend following types of steel based on product nature: 

  • O1; A general grade steel used to make punches having good toughness and abrasion resistance.
  • S-7; A standard grade steel used to give strength and toughness to punches & best Impact resistant property to dies.
  • D-3; A standard grade steel used to make dies for good strength, toughness & wear resistant property.
  • D-2; A standard grade steel used to make punches & dies for excellent toughness, wear & corrosion resistant property.

We purchase steel from validated vendors. Because Steel quality also can be judged by manufacturing procedure followed by steel manufacturer.

After receiving raw steel, we do metallurgical & chemical checks to ensure quality again.

Heat Treatment is very important phase of Tablet Tolling manufacturing process.

After heat treatment, we do micro-structure analysis. Because quality of Tablet Toolings depend on Heat treatment procedure which is necessary to achieve required hardness and provide wear & impact resistant property.

Selection of Tool Coating

We at Global, believe that coating is necessary when we need additional properties over selected steel for tool manufacturing i.e. to increase the strength & toughness, to reduce friction & sticking, to create wear & corrosion resistant, etc.

Coating enhances tooling performance and life by providing protection from wear & corrosion issues. Coating enhances smooth product release and helps overcome sticking issues during compression which leads to increase in productivity.

Based on the product nature and steel characteristics, we recommend various types of coating.

  • Hard Chrome Plating; Used for both punches and Dies, which increases surface hardness and wear resistance. It provides protection against corrosion and friction.
  • Chromium Nitride (CRN); Used for both punches and Dies , has extremely smooth surface, provides excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, anti-sticking properties.
  • Multi Layered Chromium Nitride (mCRN); Anti-stick properties increased by double layer of CRN coats.
